Hey! I’m Dawn, and welcome to my blog, Mom but not a Mom.
If you clicked on this page, I’m assuming it’s because you want to get to know me better.
I grew up overseas as a missionary kid, came back to the States to get a degree in psychology, and married a wonderful South African man.
Before you ask, no, I don’t have children.
Then why are you authoring a parenting blog?
Good question. When I first decided to become a blogger, everyone advised me to blog about the subject I was most comfortable with. As a daycare teacher turned nanny, that subject was children!
I’m no stranger to being called “mama”, but that’s not really who I am. Instead of sharing with you the intimate details of life as a mother, of which I know precious little, I would like to share with you everything I’ve learned in the past 6+ years of caring for hundreds of other people’s children. I only get the chance to love each one for a short period of time, unlike you real moms. 🙂
My goal is to see couples parenting practically and confidently, raising thriving children who become successful adults.
I can’t write about my breastfeeding journey, about waking up ten times in the middle of the night, or the best toddler travel tips. But I can off you everything I know.
